"Fundación de Niños del Café", created by Java Times Caffé to Antonio Leite's initiative, owner and founder of the above mentioned company of the Mexican coffee growers sector, works with the purpose of giving to the coffee growers communities from the 12 states of the Mexican Republic: Veracruz, Colima, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Nayarit, San Luis, Puebla, Jalisco, Chiapas, Tabasco, Querétaro, the opportunity to improve theirs and their children's standard of living.
As they explain from the Foundation, their support to these communities is canalized through the funding of micro-projects lower than 25,000 pesos that contribute to a long-term sustainable economic and social development, investing in education, professional training and in the improvement of the general living conditions of the coffee growers communities and mainly helping their children to continue in the school, and in this way be prepared for a better coffee future.
"Niños del Café Foundation is a project opened for all those companies that have relation with the coffee world, and that want to acquire a support commitment to the human development objectives chased by the Foundation", it is explained from the institution. Some of the states of the Mexican Republic in which Niños del Café is carrying out projects of social sustainability are: Veracruz, Colima, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Nayarit, San Luis, Puebla, Jalisco, Chiapas, Tabasco, Querétaro.
Nowadays, Fundación de Niños del Café counts on 2 representatives which are important national companies dedicated to the exportation, transformation and marketing of green and brown coffee, having several new programs of development in project, among them the Java Times Caffé and Café Il Faro brands. The Foundation has a seal, as "Niños del Café", that together with the 'Java Times Caffé' one, granted and audited by the certified entity NDCAC informs the consumer which part of the money that is being spend is destined to the accomplishment of projects of social sustainability and responsibility in developing countries.
"Niños del Café" is financed exclusively through the contributions of its partners, who include a monthly quota of 1.5 percent of its gross sales by each company associated with the franchise system of Java Times Caffé. Besides these quotas, the partners pay a royalty for the use of the "Niños del Café" seal in their packages of coffee, which is calculated depending on the number of kilos of coffee in which the seal is used, and they only will be able to use the seal on having bought coffee from the authorized producers to commercialize the "Niños del Café" seal.
