Specific working conditions


In the regions where families harvest traditional coffee and it is allowed by the laws that the minors take part in the crop, it is only under the following circumstances:

1. A monitoring will be carried out by the employer where he can identify those working conditions of the crop, which produce impacts in the health, the physical and mental well-being of the minors, taking early special steps to eliminate and to offset the negative effects that could happen with the farmers.
2. The activities of the crop must not interfere with the school obligations of the minors.
3. The minors must not be exhibited when supported the equivalent loads to any more than 20% of their weight.
4. The place where the minors work must be free of steep areas, slopes, high surfaces (grades bigger than 50%).
5. The minors must be accompanied for one of their parents, or in case of being accompanied by a legal manager it will be necessary a written authorization from their parents.
6. The minors will have to get remuneration in money for their labors.
7. The producer will have to take steps to reduce the participation of the minors in the field tasks.
8. The producer has the commitment to announce these criteria and to make sure of its fulfillment and responsibility at all time.
